Formed in 2004, Olio Theatre Works (OTW) was created by a volunteer group of ten actors who wanted to establish a company of artists to create art for art's sake, and ensure that art remains accessible to all audiences, and in any space or venue. Growing over time to over two dozen artists and boasting a roster of dozens of original dramas, comedies, musicals, educational programs, and more, OTW became a mainstay in local Long Beach theatre for over a decade.
In this multi-media, live educational performance, multiple forms of bullying are explored. Featuring testimonials from students and educators, and blending choreography, monologue and spoken word poetry, this piece is uniquely designed to address the dark realities of bullying experienced in schools and online. In this period dramady by actress/playwright Terra Taylor Knudson, infamous poet, Oscar Wilde, examines his life and loves during the final 24 hours of his imprisonment for gross indecency. *Workshopped in Costa Mesa, California in 2006 followed by a 6-week run in Los Angeles in 2008, and subsequent run in Long Beach in 2013.
Death is only the beginning for this motely crew of misfit, dearly-departed celebrities. They have only one night to shed their "past-life" issues and move one once and for all. Can they do it?
